New Novel Project: July 2011.

Now that things are settling down a little bit between my computer and my work (brief as that interval may always seem!), I have a lot to catch up on from the last few days I missed. Most importantly is the fact that we’re in a new month (July already, where did spring go?), and so that means it’s time for me to get cracking on a new novel. But I have to be honest with you guys. This next novel is a real drag…

Drag queen, anyway. Oh, it’s never too early for a terrible pun. This month’s project is entirely the fault of my roommate and our Netflix subscription, which delivered to us the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, causing us to streamline it and watch it all and rekindle our love for drag. It also made me think of how exceptionally fun a Charlie’s Angels-esque spy-thriller-mystery story featuring a trio of crime-fighting queens could be. They work frequently with a straight-laced female at the moment unnamed, and a shady informant (and possible pimp) that goes by the name of Cash Monet. There is still absolutely no plot involved in this book; I’m definitely just letting it go where it will, because no matter what, it’s bound to be an exciting adventure. If it shows any promise, there’s plenty of chances to buff it up later.

It’s light, it’s fun, it may even give me a little bit of a platform for expressing plenty of LGBT support. A little bit of zany fluff to help keep me sane as my ROW80 project will probably be pretty intense and take up most of my brain power. I hope by the end of the month, I’ve come up with a sassy title and a pretty good plot, but, if anything, I know some really spectacular characters are going to come out of this one.
