Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day, readers! I’m not usually a big proponent of this particular holiday, and I’m actually spending most of it working at both my jobs, so my romance today is with commerce and capitalism. I am going to give myself a goal of writing at least one little romantic vignette between my characters as sort of a nod to the holiday, but I know how these days for me can go, so I’m not promising myself anything. I’m definitely going to try, though. It’s these sorts of things that can surprisingly turn into something larger.

I’m listening to a lot of music, too, when I write these, which I think also helps not only fuel the ramblings on the page, but also my creative energy for the day. Morning has definitely become my productive time of the day. I guess I have to thank my previous job in Michigan for that. Waking up at four o’clock in the morning to be at work by five thirty turns you into a little bit of an early bird, and, lately, I’ve even been waking up well before I have my alarm clock set at 7:00am. It was 6:00am this morning, a new record! It’s strange, and I hope it’s not indicative of a larger problem, but I have been going to be earlier, too, and that is likely a factor.

Can you tell I’m in a spot between finishing books? I sort of run out of things to say when I don’t have a book to post about. This is turning into a jump-around, catch-all post for random thoughts. I’m actually really behind on February’s novel, so hopefully I can kick my butt into gear on that one, and I’m about half-way through half a dozen books right now. I have a very delicious cup of coffee and some bright and bouncy Indian pop music from my Pandora, so maybe I should take the feeling and transfer it right onto my pages.
